A Mokume Gane crescent clasps with a 14kt gold ball on a solid sterling silver band
Mokume Gane is the art of fusing different coloured metals together in distinctive layers and manipulating it into patterns. This form of metal work was developed by ancient Japanese Swordsmiths. The beautiful patterns that can be created with Mokume often resemble woodgrain. In fact, Mokume Gane actually means “Metal wood eye” in Japanese. Alexander Carey creates his beatiful Mokume Gane designs using sterling silver and copper.
Please note: The creation of Mokume Gane with traditional methods is an organic process. Patterns will vary.
